| Thomas F. Durbin, 82 of Fremont went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 24, 2010. He was born February 3, 1928 at Memorial Hospital in Fremont. He was the son of John and Caroline (Lilley) Durbin and was a 1946 graduate of St. Joseph Central Catholic High School. On January 28, 1951, he married Margaret L. Leggitt at St. Ann Church in Fremont. She preceded him in death on January 19, 1993. He spent ten fulfilling years with his longtime companion Gerri Riedmaier. For the last eight and a half years, he was a cancer survivor. He was a retired union carpenter and a member of the Loyal Order of Moose and Fraternal Order of Eagles in Fremont. He loved to dance, play cards, socialize, and do woodworking. He also loved animals as well as taking his granddaughters to get doughnuts. Surviving are his two sons Michael T (Cindy) Durbin of Fremont and John Edward (Kathleen) Durbin of Lakeland FL; daughter, Susan L (Greg Enger) Starnes of Morris, IL; 8 granddaughters, 5 great grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren and 8 step great grandchildren; brothers, James (Kate) Durbin and David (Micki) Durbin as well as several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Margaret Durbin; brother, John and sisters, Mary and Katherine. Calling hours will be Monday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at Keller-Ochs-Koch-Mason Funeral & Cremation Service, 416 S. Arch St., Fremont. A Mass of Resurrection will be held Tuesday at 10:30AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Millersville with Fr. Ted Miller officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or donor’s choice. |
