Leo M. Dickman
Leo Marcus Dickman, 88, of Fremont died Friday morning at Valleyview Care Center. He was born May 6, 1921 in Clyde, the son of Frank Joseph and Josephine (Durnwald) Dickman. He was a graduate of Clyde High School. On June 26, 1943 he married Dorothy Margaret Winke at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. In 1942, he entered into the Army where he was a member of the Military Police. He worked at Union Carbide for 39 years and then at the St. Bernardine Home for 14 years. Leo was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, the Eagles the Moose and enjoyed bowling.
Surviving is his wife of 66 years, Dorothy M. Dickman of Fremont, OH; children: William (Irene) Dickman of Marietta, GA; Dennis (Luann) Dickman of Fremont, OH; Michael (Terri) Dickman of Clyde, OH; Phillip (Cheryl) Dickman of Woodville, OH; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great- grandchild; sisters: Loretta Meyer of Indiana, Josephine Dickman of Bellevue, OH, Evelyn Fox of Bellevue, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Patricia Subu on February 6, 2010; brothers: Paul Dickman, Bernard Dickman, Raymond Dickman, Robert Dickman, Frank Dickman; sisters: Anna Rose Knowles, Mary Dickman.
According to Leo’s wishes no visitation will take place. A Mass of Resurrection will begin at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Fr. David Bruning officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery with Military Graveside Rights performed by the V.F.W and American Legion. Memorial Contributions may be made to: The American Heart Association or St. Joseph’s Church.
