Margaret Ruth Updike
Margaret Ruth Updike, 89, of Fremont died Thursday evening at Parkview Care Center, where she had been a resident for three years. She was born September 6, 1920 in Fremont, the daughter of Ellis W. and Mary (Karr) Edwards. Margaret was a 1938 graduate of Fremont Ross High School. On December 14, 1942 she married James A. Updike, he preceded her in death May 22, 1988. Mrs. Updike was an avid reader who loved cross stitching, needlework, knitting and collecting cat figures.
Surviving are her children, son, Timothy (Linda) Updike of Fremont, OH; daughters, Beth Ann (Miles) Updike of Medina, OH; Dr. Susan J. Updike; grandchildren: Dawn Ebeling, Shawn Updike, Brittney Free, Emma Free, Miles Free IV; 7 great-grandchildren.
Visitation: will take place Tuesday, January 19, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8P.M. at Keller-Ochs-Koch-Mason Funeral & Cremation Service, 416 S. Arch Street, Fremont, OH.
Funeral Services: will begin at 10:30A.M. Wednesday at the funeral home, with Dennis Bork officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to Parkview Care Center.
